Julio Belluscio Wins PokerStars Festival Uruguay Main Event For $66,748

The PokerStars Festival Uruguay Main Event attracted a starting field of 261 players. Leading the way right from the start of the final table was 51-year-old Julio Belluscio (cover image), who rode all the way to top pocketing $66,748 after a heads-up ICM chop was agreed upon.

He certainly closed out the final table in astounding fashion, taking only five levels to wrap up proceedings. To top it off, he was a virtual killing machine and eliminated every single player from the final table!

Belluscio has been playing poker for over eight years and was definitely the most recognized and accomplished player among the final eight, with nearly $300,000 in recorded live tournament earnings and results from both the EPT and the WSOP.

It was a shove fest for the major part and Belluscio managed to come out on top almost every time. Belluscio first eliminated Renan Toniolo and then sent Alejandro Garcia to the rail.

Juan Perez was the next to go and hit the rail in sixth place followed by Osvaldo Naves who fell in fifth place.

Next, Ernesto Panno and Hector Barua fell in quick succession setting up the heads-up match between Belluscio and Julio Arocena.

Belluscio as expected started the final duel with a massive chip advantage of almost five to one but Arocena was able to even out the difference that helped him negotiate a decent ICM deal. At the end, Belluscio took it all and the last hand of the event saw Arocena shoving with and Belluscio called off with . The board ran crowning Belluscio the champion!
