The WSOP Circuit IP Biloxi $1,675 Main Event boasted of a massive $500,000 guarantee and the turnouts didn’t disappoint with 343 runners joining the action where the top 36 finishers made it in the money. Kyle Cartwright (cover image) doesn’t grind the World Series of Poker Circuit events like he used to before but he clearly made a great comeback after taking the event down and walked away with $118,332 in prize money along with his seventh gold WSOPC ring.

Notables who managed to take a slice of the prize pool but fell short of the final table include Chris Savage, Warren Sheaves and seasoned Southern poker veteran “Captain” Tom Franklin.

Cartwright incidentally was on the verge of falling in 13th place when he got it in on a flip and was the player in danger against Bob Chow who flopped a set of sevens. However, Cartwright completed a flush and took the pot down.

Final Table Recap

Cartwright busted players left right and center and even took the chip lead when he made full boat with his pocket kings against James Miller’s .

He then showed the door to two more players i.e. Saeed Nia in ninth place and Cody Stanford in eighth place to grab a massive lead going into the final day.

Bob Chow went out in eighth place followed by Bob Beck who took seventh place.

Cartwright then went on a rampage; he picked up and luckily for him, Chris McClean shoved first and the latter’s did not make it.

Cartwright then gave a bad beat to short-stacked Kevin Benoit when he won a crucial pot with against the pocket jacks of Benoit.

The eliminations continued as he sent Leo Boothe packing to bring up the heads-up duel with a sizable chip lead against his final hurdle TK Miles.

Miles however, battled furiously and found a double up followed by picking some bluffs and took the lead. The roller coaster ride continued as Cartwright fought back and got ahead to a point where Miles was once again left short stacked.

Miles wasn’t done yet and scored two doubles up before it was all over. On the final hand of the event, Miles’s failed to improve against Cartwright’s .

After four hours of heads-up, Cartwright managed to secure his seventh ring and said, “Tournaments, I don’t play too many anymore, but when I do I’m kind of successful. I should probably play more, but the cash at home is so good to where I don’t even want to travel anymore.”
