Jason Koon (cover image) was crowned the champion at PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2018’s $25,000 Single-Day High Roller and banked $421,080. The event attracted a field of 41 unique players with an additional 17 re-entries and Koon put up a splendid performance dominating a stacked final table that included the likes of Nick PetrangeloChris Hunichen, Timothy Adams and Isaac Haxton.

Meanwhile, the headline Main Event chugged along with Day 3 of the event taking the 582-player starting field further down to just 43 survivors. Leading them all is Sweden’s Karl Stark with a stack of 1,148,000. Trailing Stark is none other than David Peters who bagged 1,117,000 in chips.

Other notables who are still in contention for the $1,081,100 top prize include Oleg Titov (938,000), Koray Aldemir (757,000), Adrian Mateos (620,000), Jack Sinclair (598,000), and PokerStars Team Pro Liv Boeree (389,000).

The action was fierce, right from the get-go and the unofficial final table was reached after the dinner break. The bubble broke when PokerStars Team Pro Igor Kurganov got his stack in with nines only to lose to Adams’s queens.

Final Table Recap

The first player to exit in the money was USA’s Isaac Haxton, who departed in eighth place. Haxton open shoved with pocket sevens and lost against Adams’s pocket tens.

Canadian Christopher Kruk went out soon thereafter as he jammed with eight-seven suited which got called by the eventual champion Koon who tabled a better queen-ten suited. The board blanked out and just like that, Koon eliminated Kruk.

Koon was merciless and soon sent USA`s Chris Hunichen packing in sixth spot after the latter shoved with a suited king and got called by Koon who tabled ace-jack suited. Koon further hit a three-of-a-kind to end Hunichen`s dream run.

Koon’s hot streak continued as he soon dispatched France`s Benjamin Pollak in fifth place. The chips went in before the flop and Koon held ace-ten suited while Pollak tabled queen-jack. The board threw no surprises and Koon took down the hand railing Pollak in the process.

Nick Petrangelo exited in fourth place after he shoved on the flop holding a king-high flush draw and gutshot straight draw only to find himself trailing Mikalai Vaskaboinikau’s nut-flush draw. Both rivered a flush but Vaskaboinikau busted Petrangelo.

The sole Canadian at the table, Timothy Adams exited next at the hands of Vaskaboinikau. Adams decided to move all-in with pocket jacks against Vaskaboinikau’s ace-nine. The latter rivered an Ace-pair and took down the hand to set up the heads-up match against Koon.

The heads-up lasted over an hour and the last hand of the event saw Vaskaboinikau moving all-in from the button with king-six and Koon woke up with pocket aces to take down the pot and the title.
