partypoker Rolls Out Software Update & Doubles Weekly Tournament GTD’s

When players opened the partypoker software on February 24, they were prompted to download the latest update which promises to significantly improve the playing experience for its players.

partypoker took on board feedback from players to make improvements to its existing tables, plus it created a new look table that players can choose to play on. Some of the key improvements include, the reintroduction of the oval-shaped table alongside the existing table design, new and improved player plates with larger fonts to improve players’ multi-tabling experience, improved display of player notes and several smaller enhancements to improve the look and feel of the tables.

But that’s not all, not by a far margin! partypoker has more than doubled their weekly tournament guarantees from the previous $4 Million to a staggering $10 Million!

Moreover, partypoker has completely changed the schedule of their popular Power Series. Old tournaments have been replaced by new ones with bigger guarantees such as the Knockout Monday, Big Tuesday, Smooth Saturday or Super Sunday. There are now four different buy-in categories to choose from Micro (Mi), Low (L), High (H) and High Roller (HR), offering something for every taste and budget.

Unibet Launches Global Campaign to Challenge Gender Bias

Unibet was working with London-based creative agency FCB Inferno to challenge gender biased stereotypes within the poker world. They launched their #QUEENRULES campaign which tweaks traditional poker rules so that the Queen outranks the King. The launch of Queen Rules coincided with International Woman’s Day (March 8) and has been designed to incite conversation about gender inequality.

The campaign launched with live events and tournaments using #queenrules – where the queen outranks the king in a deck of cards – in London, Stockholm and Malta.

At the events, limited-edition playing cards were used, that featured illustrations created by 16 female illustrators from www.womenwhodraw.com. Merchandise – such as t-shirts, artwork and playing cards containing the illustrations – are available online with all proceeds from the events and merchandise donated to HeforShe, a campaign created by UN Women to provide a platform for a global audience to engage and become change agents for the achievement of gender equality.

Commenting on the campaign, Kindred Group CEO Henrik Tjärnström said, “Kindred is a very diverse business, with more than 50 nationalities. We continue to work hard to keep focus on diversity and equality and this project is a simple but fantastic way to start conversations on unconscious gender-bias through a game.”

Head of Events at Kindred Group, Nataly Sopacuaperu was equally proud and stated, “We are proud to be involved in the #QueenRules project. It is a fantastic idea that highlights where in society we have gender bias. As a company, our ambition is to make all of our players and employees feel understood, and challenging these kinds of stereotypes is one way to do this.”

Kindred also took part at Women In Tech Stockholm as a founding partner, an industry collaboration that serves as a platform to inspire and enlighten women already working in the technology industry and women who wish to work in the sector.
