The World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit will see several more international stops in its 2016 – 2017 schedule, including locations in Australia, Portugal and Belgium, besides the usual ones in France, Italy and Morocco.
Announcing the new stops, Gregory Chochon, Director, WSOP stated, “We are very pleased to add these additional stops to the WSOP Circuit. We have been very judicious on which locales and casinos we will work with and believe we have found terrific partners in each of these markets to help bring the WSOP brand to a local and regional audience.”
Initially, WSOP had announced on six stops for the international schedule, though a hint of 14 had been dropped. In the interim a first stop in South America, Brazil was added and proved to be a super success with massive attendance.
With these six more stops the tally now is up to 13, just one less than what was announced. The last event is still under planning and the company said that “If all events planned do come to fruition, the WSOP International Circuit will reach its previously announced target of 14 stops for the season.”
The new stops will be in addition to the event at Cercle Clichy Montmarte in Paris, which is currently on and the upcoming Enjoy Conrad Punta del Este in Punta del Este, Uruguay. The latter will run in tandem to the Sydney main Event, while the Casino Campione will host another two stops, besides an event in September.
It was also reported that the hugely popular WSOP Circuit Bally’s stop had been rescheduled from late February and early March, with a new venue added due to the change. The hugely popular stop will now unfold at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino from February 16 to 27.
